Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development
Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development is a non-profit organization that encourages international and cross-sectoral cooperation and networking and develops awareness of philanthropic and democratic values, all of this in order to develop a local community to fit the needs of all citizens. It was established on the 4th October 2006 by the Istrian Region.
Mission
The mission of the Foundation is to create an active civil society that collaborating with the public and private sector contributes to the development of local communities.
Vision
The vision of the Foundation is a well developed local community that fits the needs of all citizens.
The Foundation has three essential functions:
a) INFORMATIONAL: provides current information on civil society through its website, social networks (Facebook, Linkedin), publications, press releases and announcements, and the monthly newsletter 'E-trokut'. In addition, the Foundation’s team is available for inquiries every weekday.
b) EDUCATIONAL: organizes and participates in workshops, seminars, roundtables, and other events on the topic of civil society in order to encourage dialogue between all participants in the community. The Foundation draws up and implements projects in association with national and international partners, thus allowing the transfer of European experiences and knowledge to the local level.
c) FINANCIAL: throughout the year the Foundation opens calls for projects and civil action proposals for civil society organizations. The Foundation established cooperation with various stakeholders and developed high-quality models of funding: Since 2006, the Foundation is co-financed by the Istrian County and opens different tenders: for institutional support, tender "Development of Society", "Micro actions" and other tenders for CSO projects; In 2007 it formed "Cities and municipalities Fund" in cooperation with the cities and municipalities of the Region of Istria. The Fund has 17 members and finances a tender called „Small projects for a better tomorrow“– a tender for community development projects which funds the best projects; Since 2007 the Decentralized model of providing financial support in cooperation with the National Foundation for Civil Society Development was implemented. This cooperation enables the Foundation to open tenders for civil actions “Our Contribution to Society” twice a year for organizations from 3 different counties. In 2013 the Foundation signed an agreement for cooperation in the implementation of the Extended decentralized model of providing financial support that gave the Foundation a greater task. Besides the tender for civil initiatives the Foundation now works as an executive body for Government bodies for the area of the same 5 counties.
